The Santa Barbara Presidio Research Center (SBTHP), became an integral source for the group’s research. Collectively, the class accessed archival books, oral histories, maps, and other multimedia content involving historic preservation in Santa Barbara County.
Through multiple visits, the team read written reports, flipped through slide films, and documented preserved artifacts from early Santa Barbara. When visiting the SBTHP, the team sorted through and brought to light unique pieces of information and artifacts that supported our research, and we became mediators for the public. By animating these archived documents through an online site we are making the hidden history of this city more accessible and opening doors for future research.
